This second walking tour is dedicated to the extraordinary stories of Vilnius women.
This walk is about the rebellious women who were destined to live in the last century - a true age of change. As governments and money changed, empires crumbled, new states were created, occupations and wars plagued them, the heroines of this tour lived courageously - working, creating, teaching, resisting, changing, searching, protecting, writing and walking the untrodden paths of exploits.
We will discover together the undeservedly forgotten women of Vilnius: Marija, Beatrice, Ona, Marcela, Elena, Judita, Emilia, Sara and other rebels. You will hear the stories of: a spy's rescue operation in Lithuania; the path to becoming the city's first female doctor; the youngest Jewish partisan in Vilnius; a queen without a throne, who took care of the children of Vilnius; a creator who created for people, not for fashion; an anarchist, who became Lithuania's first judge of nations; a poet whose poems pulsate through the city; and a visionary, who managed to turn every "no" into a "yes".
❗Important: The stories and characters of the tour are not repetitive with those of the tour "The (Forgotten) Women of Vilnius", and are therefore suitable for those who are new to Vilnius and for those who are continuing to collect stories about Vilnius women.
