On 24 May in Vilnius, Schubert's beautiful and erotic vocal cycle "Winter Road" will be presented!
On 24 May (Friday, 7 pm) in Vilnius, fans of classical and simply wonderful music will have a unique opportunity to attend an unforgettable concert!
This sensual, incredibly melodic, erotic, one of the most profound, beautiful and sexy vocal cycles in the history of world music, a true diamond of vocal art (Winterreise), composed by F. Schubert will take place in the very centre of Vilnius, in a wonderful and unique venue - J. Heifetz Chamber Hall, located at Pylimo g. 4, on the third floor of the Jewish (Litvak) Community of Lithuania, which can accommodate only 100 lucky people,
1 hour and 15 minutes of soulful celebration will be performed by the following wonderful world-class performers:
Maestro Giedrius Prunskus (baritone) and Maestro Paula Gudinaitė (piano).
Both artists are high-level performers, well-known in Europe, winners of many prestigious festivals and competitions!
This exceptional song cycle was composed by the great composer in 1827, plagued by illness and poverty, a year before his death. A masterpiece by the Austrian musical genius known as the King of Song, Schubert, his 24-song vocal cycle based on the poetic texts of Wilhelm Müller, The Winter Road, is extremely popular in his homeland of Germany and Austria, but rarely heard in Lithuania! The incredibly emotional and musical songs tell the story of a rejected young man who embarks on a long journey in the middle of winter, in the middle of a blizzard and freezing cold, accompanied by his only and unpleasant companion - a black raven...
