18 November 2024 at 19:00 For the first time in Lithuania, the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Lithuania will host an exceptional concert featuring the brightest contemporary opera stars, the leading soloists of the Metropolitan Opera in New York - soprano Sondra Radvanovsky (Canada) and tenor Piotr Beczała (Poland). In Vilnius, together with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and conductor Gianluca Marcianò (Italy), the performers will present a programme of the most famous operatic arias and duets specially prepared for this concert.
World-renowned soprano Sondra Radvanovsky stands out on the opera stage not only for her talent, but also for the breadth of her repertoire - thanks to her deep voice timbre and dramatic mastery, she has created many striking and dramatically different operatic roles, including Rusalka, Manon Lescaut and Tosca. Radvanovsky regularly appears in the world's most important opera houses and is regarded as one of the foremost contemporary performers of Verdi's works and bel canto.
The Polish-born lyric tenor Piotr Beczała is one of the most coveted operatic soloists in the world's most renowned opera houses and concert halls. His vocal talent, timbre and dedication to each role are appreciated by audiences and critics in Chicago, Milan, New York, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg and Zurich, where he regularly appears. Beczała's biography also includes memorable concert parts with the most famous conductors and orchestras of today.
The final concert will be conducted by Gianluca Marcianò, an Italian maestro familiar to Lithuanian audiences, renowned for his expressive, dramatic style and unique interpretations of the opera genre. The concert will feature arias and duets from operas by Puccini, Giordano, Dvořák and Verdi.
