Umberto Giordano was an Italian composer who gained fame for his opera Andrea Chenier, which premiered in Milan in 1896. He received musical training in Naples and his musical style is similar to that of Puccini or Leoncavallo. He passed away in 1948 after his last opera, Il Re, was presented in Milan in 1929.
