Although she has a degree in science, she has always had an inner urge to create. G. Daunienė began her creative journey with crayon drawings, then, encouraged by a friend, took up paints and brushes. This is how the image of the Tree of Life was spontaneously born. Once the beginning of life, the moment of Resurrection, was realised, the Easter egg was born, the cycle of life with its fragility. G. Daunienė paints in a childlike way, conveying the images that emerge from within, and it is only when the work is finished that one realises what has been painted. "Mummy, can you give me some of your work?" She was also encouraged by the well-known artist Virginijus Kašinskas, who was visiting her: "Paint as you feel, only in a larger format, and don't go anywhere to learn." The exhibition will be open at the A. and P. Galaunis House-Museum (Vydūno al. 2, Kaunas) until 20 April.
