50 years is half a century in human years. But is that a big number for a music group? Fans will be able to ask the members of Hyperbole this question as 2024 marks exactly 50 years since the legendary rock band was formed. To mark the occasion, the members of Hyperbolė are going to rock the country's biggest arenas. Back to the audience with new energy and old time-tested songs. And how did the path of the band loved by listeners begin?

 

 

The story of Hyperbola began in the spring of 1974, when the students of the Vilnius Institute of Engineering and Construction came up with an idea of forming a group of faculty musicians. The first performances took place in local discos. Despite Soviet censorship and criticism, the musical level of the band rose like a leaf and soon Hyperbolė reached the peak of its popularity.

 

"Those were different times then - wild. It wasn't as easy to become popular then as it is now. A Soviet student couldn't wear long hair, jeans, or play the guitar, let alone an electric one. But we had an endless passion for singing, which helped us overcome all obstacles," the members of Hyperbolė share their memories. 

 

Over the years, the band has played countless concerts, released numerous albums and captured the hearts of hordes of fans who to this day still chant the lyrics of the hit songs with a thrill. 

 

In 2024, fans will again have the opportunity to recall the Lithuanian rock classics, enjoy the live sound and see their favourite performers Igor Berin (vocals, guitar), Viktoras Prapras (vocals, keys) and Arvydas Šnaras (percussion).

"It will be the same old Hyperbole," the band says. "Some listeners will remember how they used to sing these songs with us in concerts. For others, they will remind them of their youth. And for others, they might be a whole new discovery. We are happy that our music still unites a huge number of listeners of all ages," says the performers of Hyperbolė.
