The performance is intended to celebrate Lithuania's 20th anniversary of membership of the European Union in a theatrical form and to take stock of the development of the Lithuanian society during these two decades. The performance is part of the CAMINO project activities - the main event of the celebration of the Europe Day at Vilnius University.
VU Kinetic Theatre's dance performance Hommo in Maxima is an experiment that tries to look at the evolution of four values after Lithuania's accession to the European Union. How the perception of love, affection, security and the meaning of life have changed. Do we call love just the adventure of a fun party? Maybe attachment is just an addiction to brands, and security is the result of the roles of the self and the stranger, and it is not worth looking for meaning, because it is buried under the tombstone of the answers provided by artificial intelligence and the feeling of personal irrelevance.
Deus ex machina has died, and now the situation of hommo ex machina is taking shape, and is trying to transform itself into an emotionally fulfilling manual. And values are being replaced by... a written code of "life" or an administrative manual compressed in an Excel spreadsheet - in the grip of mandatory productivity. It meets the necessary criteria, but does not tolerate sincerity, so it degenerates into Hommo in Maxima.
