Juozas Jakavonis-Tigras was one of the last partisans of the Merkinė detachment, captured by the enemies, tortured and not betrayed by his commanders Adolfas Ramanauskas-Vanagas and Juozas Vitkus-Kazimieraitis. Tigras survived the Magadan camps and returned to his homeland. After Lithuania regained its independence, he actively took care of the memory of the partisans of the Dainava region until the end of his life, and restored the bunker of the partisan headquarters in his native homestead in Kasčiūnai village, Merkinė municipality. The documentary tells the cruel stories of the partisan Tigras from his own lips. The film is unique in that the hero himself tells the whole dramatic story of his own and the Dainava District partisans' resistance to the invaders.
Director Valdas Babaliauskas has created the film's plot by juxtaposing the recollections of A. Ramanauskas-Vanagos about J. Jakavonis-Tigris with the vivid narration of the hero himself at his homestead in the village of Kasčiūnai, by the restored partisan bunker. The film tells the story of what the partisans experienced when they lived in constant risk, persecuted by the enemy, how they survived the loss of their brothers-in-arms, and why they came to the defence of Lithuania. The organiser of the event is the Juozas Jakavonis - Tigras Charity and Support Foundation
