Traditionally, during the Culture Night, ORGANUM Concert Hall invites you to spend a meditation of music and light. Organist Dainius Sverdiolas seeks to reveal the beauty, the sacredness and the timeless majesty of organ music. At this year's Culture Night in the Organum Hall, he will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Six Schubler Chorales, the Great Fantasy and Fugue in G minor, as well as Lithuanian composer Teisutis Makačinas' Lithuanian Notebook.
Organist Dainius Sverdiolas (*1956) has been performing since 1980. Over the years he has given numerous recitals in Lithuanian concert halls, churches and unconventional spaces such as the Hill of Crosses in Šiauliai County and the Martynas Mažvydas National Library. He has represented Lithuanian music culture at festivals in Lithuania and abroad, and has played the organ of the most famous Western European masters. His artistic interests include monumental works from different epochs and the Lithuanian organ repertoire. However, the organist's most notable contribution has been the 5 concert cycle of all the works of Olivier Messiaen. He has been studying the works of this composer all his life.
