Myrddin, an exceptional flamenco guitarist, is coming to Lithuania for the first time to present a distinctive and unique flamenco programme for solo guitar.
Myrddin De Cauter, the youngest son of multi-instrumentalist Koen De Cauter, is a phenomenon of Belgian music scene. At the age of just eleven, he was taught by his father to play the clarinet (mainly in jazz and gypsy swing styles); he became part of the family orchestra and had his first experiences on stage. A classical melody written for guitar led him to ask his father to teach him the basics of flamenco guitar. Soon Myrddin was striving for more and went to Andalusia to learn from great masters like Manolo Sanlucar and Gerardo Núñez. This led him to create in his own unique language, deeply rooted in the pure flamenco tradition, but enriched with boundless creativity.
Six albums and countless concerts later, Myrddin is proving that great flamenco virtuosos don't necessarily have to come from Spain.
