Myrddin De Cauter, the youngest son of multi-instrumentalist Koen De Cauter, is a phenomenon on the Belgian music scene. At the age of 11, he was taught by his father to play the clarinet (mainly in the jazz and gypsy swing style); he became part of the family orchestra and had his first experiences on stage. A classical melody written for guitar led him to ask his father to teach him the basics of flamenco guitar. Soon Myrddin was striving for more and went to Andalusia to learn from great masters like Manolo Sanlucar and Gerardo Núñez. This led him to create in his own unique language, deeply rooted in the pure flamenco tradition but enriched with boundless creativity.
Six albums and countless concerts later, Myrddin proves that great flamenco virtuosos don't necessarily have to come from Spain.
