The Organum Concert Hall welcomes spring with a theatrical musical performance that will combine old, archaic cultural forms (sutartines), authentic folk songs, canticle music and unique imitation of bird voices with contemporary forms of artistic expression - electronics, rhythmics and improvisation.
The idea of the project was born while observing an information stand about birds in Vilnius Sapiegas Park. The information about the birds living in the park and the opportunity to listen to their songs inspired me to study the birds' voices in more detail. This led to the idea of expanding and interpreting one of the oldest themes - bird voices in music - in a modern way.
Inspired by birdsong, they will improvise together:
Skirmantas Sasnauskas (trombone, bagpipe, voice)
Utara (voices)
Agota Zdanavičiūtė (voice, kanklės)
Adas Gecevičius (electronics)
The musicians of the concert have already met several times on Lithuanian stages: Thirty years ago, Skirmantas Sasnauskas and Ūtara (then as members of the band Vydraga) presented "Laumių sakmės" at the Birštonas Jazz Festival - the first ethno jazz music project in the history of Lithuanian music, later released as a CD.
