"The search for balance, for harmony between symmetry and asymmetry, for connections between very different and identical forms. Initially Š.Š. and the symmetrically divided life line: twenty-three years in the last 20th century and twenty-three in this century. In the exhibition we aim to present, at least briefly, the processes of all the main areas of Šarūnas Šlektavičius's work: from his early works, the furniture he created during his studies, to the commissioned works and the projects he has carried out with various teams, from Symphony to the Design Foundation and the stories already told by and about Šarūnas himself, from perhaps his most famous project Uper to the complete surprise of his mature jewellery pieces and another ship, currently under construction. Drawings, sketches, models and various artefacts guide the designer's thoughts and hands along the paths of the designer, helping to understand the emerging whole and to discover unknown profiles of Šlektavičius. For the exhibition's creative team, this process was full of surprises: some of us knew about some of his creative activities, others knew about others, and some of the artefacts that emerged were news to almost everyone. So we invite you to discover the results of our search process, which allowed us to get to know our dear colleague and friend better." (Karolina Jakaitė and Gintautė Žemaitytė)
