"Sax Colossus is a series of concerts initiated by the club and musicians dedicated to legendary jazz saxophonists. The term "saxophone colossus" originated with Sonny Rollins' album of the same name, which became an important phenomenon in jazz history. The club has already played and played to packed houses with dedications to Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gordon.This concert is a tribute to the life and music of the brilliant tenor saxophonist, Hank Mobley.
