"I have no hesitation in saying that this is the best performance I have ever heard" (Geoffrey Douglas Madge.).
"Paul Andersson is an extremely talented pianist. In addition to his great virtuosity, sense of music and style, Paul has a strong artistic personality and a strong stage presence that captivates audiences." (Eugen Indjic)
This is how world-renowned pianists have commented on the young Lithuanian pianist Paulijs Andersson. On Friday, 5 July, at 22:00, he will give a solo recital at the MUSIC CENTRE, which should definitely attract the attention of music lovers.
P. Andersson will perform an ambitious programme - five (out of twelve) Transcendental Etudes by the famous 19th century Hungarian composer and pianist Ferenc Liszt. These are also known as the "Etudes of the Highest Performance Excellence". It is a cycle of etudes composed by Liszt and dedicated to his teacher Carl Czerny, a renowned composer of etudes. This cycle is said to be the quintessence of Liszt's artistic vision. The concert will also feature piano works by J.S. Bach and J. Haydn.
P. Andersson continues a beautiful musical family tradition: his mother Alekandra Žvirblytė and grandmother Veronika Vitaitė are both renowned pianists and teachers, and his grandfather Vytautas Žvirblis is a conductor. He graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and received his Bachelor's degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In 2021, he received a Master's Degree in Performing Arts from the Robert Schumann School of Music in Düsseldorf, Germany, and last year he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Performing Arts at the prestigious Miami Frost Graduate School of Music in the USA.
The pianist began performing at the age of 5. At the age of 11, he made his debut with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and at the age of 14 he played as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has appeared on concert stages in Europe, Japan, Indonesia and the USA, where he has performed with orchestras and in solo and chamber music programmes. In 2022, he became the Drozdoff Society's Artist-in-Residence in New York.
P. Andersson has won prizes in 16 international competitions in France, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Lithuania. He has released a CD of works by J. Vitol, L. van Beethoven, F. Chopin, F. Schubert and M. Ravel. Piano and drum improvisation is another of Paul's passions, and has also brought him prizes.
P. Andersson's recital promises to be of interest to both young and older audiences, especially fans of Liszt. We cordially invite you to attend!
