Program: JULIJA OKRUŠKO - "Legends" for violin, orchestra and choir
This concert is dedicated to the memory of the composer, violinist Julia Okrushko (1983-2021). A talented violinist, she was educated in Lithuania and the USA, won numerous international competitions, and performed with various orchestras.
While studying and later living in the USA, Julia's activities expanded and expanded: she formed the New England String Quartet, recorded CDs, and created television shows. As a composer, she has collaborated with film and visual arts producers, written music for commercials, soundtracks for plays, ballets and concerts, and had her music performed by orchestras and ensembles in the US.
"I have developed a unique musical style - I play fantasy music on the violin, I compose it myself, and I orchestrate it. This year, inspired by music from films and video games, I released my own album, Legends: Fantasy Violin," Okrushko said. At the Hollywood Media Awards, the album was nominated in three categories. Now Lithuanian audiences have a great opportunity to hear Legends for violin, orchestra and choir live.
