Rate dancing comes in a wide variety of genres and styles, but folk dancing is more characterised by its abundance of circles than anything else. All over the world, folk dances use circles. The circle is a transcendent symbol of spirituality, of the divine. Folk dances also claim to be such, but the performance will seek to find out how much folk dances are authentic and how much they are really folk dances.
Suk, spin the wheel, spin it to one side,
Tell me, maiden, are you going to be mine?
I won't turn the wheel either way
Don't say, my boy, that I will be yours.
You did not come to me on your horse,
You did not give me your ring
You did not come to me on your horse,
You did not give me your sister's ring.
