For the first time in Lithuania, the exhibition presents the author's complete creative implitude - from drawings and paintings to texts, photography, installations and video films. The exhibition analyses the wellbeing of today's man in a fundamentally changed geopolitical space, using the sharp and politically engaged language of contemporary art. Through various means of expression, the artist interprets the situation of the 21st century, revealing the vulnerability and neuroses of our existence, highlighting the anxiety caused by ongoing wars, constant threats, confrontations between hostile powers, and the effects of climate change. The works declare Mäki's position and offer the viewer an imaginative play that highlights the question: is it possible to live detached from the reality of the present, as if nothing is happening in the world? Mäki's themes of war, migration, rejection, gender equality and other controversial topics have been developing for many years and have become particularly relevant in the context of modernity and especially in recent times. Mäki rethinks these foundational narratives in his interdisciplinary work, transforming it into a holistic form of socio-political critique and philosophical reflection.
