"Horizon Stories is about how, for me, art and playful poems are perfectly complementary and fulfilling. A perfect harmony between the image and the rhythms that analyse the image. Horizons are always a mystical phenomenon when you don't know what's beyond. You just have to go to it, to travel, to see and experience. Immense horizons where one can see mysticism, strange architecture and hidden human silhouettes. I would describe my paintings as images seen and imagined. Mostly blue tones predominate, but occasionally warmer colours are added to enliven the main message of the painting. I let the colours play with each other and live on the canvas, telling their own story. I don't put strict boundaries on my painting style because I have always valued freedom of expression and mind. Painting for me is like an escape into another world where I feel safe and honest with myself. It is the ultimate journey - into myself, through the world." (Vilija Markevičienė) The exhibition will be open at Pylimo Gallery (Pylimo g. 30, Vilnius) until 19 October.
