Known under its current name since 1992, Spindulys remains the only cinema in Marijampolė with a long history and stages of modernisation.Modernisation and ExpansionIn 2001, the cinema underwent significant modernisation, including the installation of a Dolby sound and projection system and the opening of a second cinema hall. The large auditorium currently has 384 seats and the small auditorium has 39 seats. In 2011, the cinema was upgraded with 2K digital cinema projection equipment, and in 2014, the refurbished chairs in the Grand Hall provided even more comfort for the audience.Technological advancesOn 3 October 2022, a new 4K laser projector was installed in the Grand Hall, and in 2023, the sound system was upgraded in both auditoriums and the cinema screen in the small hall.
