"Nykštukas" puppet theater was founded in 1974. and operated as a children's puppet folk theater in the "Old Trust" cultural palace in Kaunas. Currently, it is a family, mobile, repertory theater, where performances for children are created and shown. Since 1988 the theater is managed by Darius Armanavičius, he is a play director, artist and actor, and Jūratė Armanavičienė performs the duties of an actress and theater hostess. Currently, the repertoire includes sixteen plays, interpretations of folk and classical tales. The theater successfully tours not only in Lithuania, but also abroad. Performances were shown in Estonia, Russia, Belarus, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Norway, India, etc. For successful performances and responsible roles, the theater has been awarded at various Lithuanian and international festivals, for example, the puppet play "Kiaus, Meaus ir tetulė" was filmed and shown in its country by Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) television, and at the international festival "Bannanikala" ("Banana Fish") In Estonia, Nykštukas won the Grand Prize twice. "Adventures of Piglets", which was released in 2000, received great popularity and appreciation. was nominated for the "Kristofori" theatrical awards as the best puppet show for children. The theater's archive is constantly supplemented by many international festival awards. The theater also organizes seminars and educational programs.
