"Vyčio Jankausko Šokio Teatras": the Synergy of Professionalism and Creativity "Vyčio Jankausko Šokio Teatras" is not only an important player on the Lithuanian dance scene, but also an important part of the culture, creating and spreading the charm of dance art both in Lithuania and abroad. Founded by choreographer and dancer Vytis Jankauskas, the theatre has been operating as a dance company since 1997 and has been recognised as a professional dance theatre since 2008. Spectrum of activities The theatre is known not only in Lithuania, but also in international dance festivals such as Poland, Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Sweden, Germany and even in Egypt. In 2002, their performance "Songs of a Medieval Boy" represented Lithuanian dance at the International Contemporary Dance Festival "Global Dance 2002" in Düsseldorf, Germany, demonstrating the quality and innovation of Lithuanian dance art. Educational Projects and Cooperation The theatre actively cooperates with non-governmental organisations, carrying out educational dance projects aimed at disseminating knowledge of dance art and inspiring new generations of dancers. In 1995, a dance studio was established next to the company, where Vytis Jankauskas Theatre choreographers and teachers, including Vytis Jankauskas and Giedre Kirkilytė-Jankauskienė, teach. Awards and Recognition Giedrė Kirkilytė-Jankauskienė was nominated for the prestigious Golden Stage Cross Award for her role in Blind Spot, confirming the theatre's high creative and performance quality. Company Composition The theatre boasts a talented company, including director, teacher and dancer Giedrė Kirklytė-Jankauskienė, artistic director Vytis Jankauskas, and guest artists such as Andrius Katinas, Loreta Juodkaitė and many others. Members of the dance studio, which operates alongside the theatre, also take part in the performances, adding even more variety and life to the theatre's performances.
