In March, Šiauliai, like other Lithuanian cities, usually hosts a variety of musical events and concerts to mark the beginning of spring and important dates such as 11 March, the day of restoration of Lithuanian independence. 
 

Patriotic concerts and events to mark Lithuanian Independence Day. These may include official concerts with classical music performances, as well as folk music and song performances featuring songs important to Lithuania. 

Classical music concerts at the Šiauliai State Philharmonic, churches and other cultural institutions. These events often include performances by orchestras, choirs, soloists and chamber ensembles. 

Jazz evenings and popular music concerts in various venues around the city. These events can take place in larger concert halls as well as in cosy cafés and clubs, offering the opportunity to hear both local and visiting artists.

While the bigger festivals tend to take place during the summer, March can see the start of a wide range of cultural and arts festivals, offering musical performances, exhibitions, workshops and other activities.
