(AV17) gallery, founded in 2011, is one of the few galleries in Lithuania presenting exclusively contemporary object, sculpture and installation art. The gallery collaborates with well-known conceptual sculpture artists both in Lithuania and abroad, as well as focuses on presenting the creative explorations of promising young artists. (AV17) also represents the work of the artists it represents internationally, thus promoting wider knowledge of Lithuanian artists abroad. Beyond exhibitions in exhibition spaces, (AV17) is open to new collaborations and seeks creative ways and unconventional locations to present contemporary art. Not only in the gallery, but also outside it, educational activities include informal meetings with artists, workshops, lectures and other events aimed at presenting contemporary art to the general public.
The gallery's main goal is to promote contemporary art among different audiences, to stimulate their understanding and interest by using a variety of creative and relevant means. In the Lithuanian context (AV17) remains a unique space that brings together the creative explorations of different artistic fields.
