In 1993, under the chairmanship of sculptor Juozas Lebednykas, the gallery "Gallery XX" was established in the Panevėžys Branch of the LDS, with an area of 82.5 m2. The name is symbolic - the twentieth century + twenty members of the union. "Gallery XX is located in the very centre of Panevėžys - on Laisvės Square. The intimate environment of the gallery results in small, mostly personal exhibitions.
"Galerija XX" presents the work of contemporary Lithuanian and foreign authors, organizes joint exhibitions with other galleries in Panevėžys, organizes international plein air exhibitions, engages in educational activities and represents Panevėžys in cultural projects in Lithuania and abroad. Every year, in July, the gallery organises international plein air painting workshops, publishes exhibition catalogues and brochures.
