The first Roman Catholic church was built in 1698.The owner of Leliūnai Manor, J. Pomarnackas, built a second church. The present church was built in 1901-1905. It has a mixed architecture with Gothic, Romantic and modern elements. The project was designed by the owner of the Pakalnii Manor, engineer A. Kulieša. It was built by the Latvian Anzolis. The bricks were fired at Leliūnai and Sungailiškės manors. In 1813, thanks to the care of the priest A. Masaitis, a 21-rank organ made by the famous Gebel organ firm in Königsberg was brought to the Leliūnai church. At present, it is one of the best old instruments in Lithuania and is included in the Register of Cultural Treasures. The churchyard has a red brick chapel.
