The Šoblje Film Club was founded as a club for lovers of good cinema, organising weekly film screenings and other events (Šoblje Film Christmas, Šoblje Film Festival). The club is named after Šoblė, in honour of the founder of the Film and TV Department and one of the most prominent Lithuanian documentary filmmakers, Henrikas Šablevičius (1930-2004).
The Šoblė Film Club screenings take place every Monday, 6:30 p.m., at the Faculty of Theatre and Cinema of Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, 10, Kosčiuškos St., Room 104 - Šoblė Auditorium. Each time the film is presented by a different lecturer, guest of honour or student from the Faculty of Theatre and Film of the LAMT. The film is followed by a discussion over a cup of tea.
