The tower of the Gediminas Castle is the most visited department of the National Museum of Lithuania. Its exhibition introduces the history of Vilnius as the political centre of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and invites you to see the magnificent panorama of the capital city with your own eyes.
What can you find here?
Shells from the 14th-15th century Crusader invasions; one of the two crossbow arrows with a point found in Lithuania from the same period, as well as a ceremonial axe made of horn and decorated with Baltic swastika symbols; letters written by Prince Gediminas between 1322 and 1323, written to Pope John XXII and to the merchants of Europe; and an installation devoted to the Baltic Way, which will allow you to feel like a participant in the Baltic Way.
