The Museum of Wooden City Architecture (MMAM), as a department of the Vilnius Memorial Museums Directorate, was established in pursuance of the Decision of the Vilnius City Municipal Council No.1-1762 of 17 October 2018 "On the Approval of the Implementation of the Project "Establishment of the Museum of Wooden Architectural Heritage in Vilnius, 52, Polocko St.", and the European Union Structural Funds funding for the Project "Establishment of the Museum of Wooden Architectural Heritage in Vilnius, 52, Polocko St.". During the restoration of the building on Polocko Street, the MMAM team worked intensively on the museum's exposition and educational activities: organised excursions, workshops for children, collaborated with children's camps, and took part in the cultural heritage festivals Heritas. On 18 May 2022, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the museum was inaugurated and the first visitors were invited to the exhibition spaces.
