The Vilnius City Gallery "Art Niche" was founded in 2002. "Meno Niša is one of the most active contemporary art galleries in Lithuania. It exhibits professional contemporary art, organises international art projects, cooperates with foreign galleries, cultural institutions and artists, and conducts educational activities.
The gallery's programme focuses on different media of contemporary art: painting, sculpture, installation, performance, photography, video art etc. "Every year, Meno Niche actively participates in international exhibitions and art fairs: Positions Berlin, Volta Basel, Viennacontemporary, ArtVilnius, Kolner Liste, Art Karlsruhe, ArtVerona, YIA Paris, London's Global Art Fair etc.
Diana Stomienė, the director of Meno Niša Gallery, is the president of the Lithuanian Art Gallery Association and the director of ArtVilnius, the largest visual arts event in Eastern and Northern Europe since 2009. Since 2010, Art Niche has been implementing the project "Art Space for Young Artists". In 2021, the gallery's project "The 1st Vilnius Performance Art Biennial" won the competition for the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, announced by Vilnius City Municipality and GO Vilnius.
In 2022, "Meno Niša" won the status of a cultural organisation of the city of Vilnius, announced by the Vilnius City Municipality, and became the "Meno Niša" gallery of the city of Vilnius.
