- The aim of the activities of the Cultural Centre is to satisfy the cultural needs of the community, to foster spiritual culture, national consciousness, citizenship, to develop educational and entertainment activities, to organize the dissemination of professional art in Stakliski Elderly Municipality.
- The activity of the Cultural Centre is of a multifunctional character.
- The most important tasks of the Cultural Centre:
- to enable young people and elders to socialize in a cultured way, to spend their free time, to reveal their abilities, to take part in the community activities,
- to preserve and cherish national traditions, to promote interest in the history of their region, in the ancient and modern culture,
- to cultivate the aesthetic and artistic tastes, the perception of beauty, the respect for the people who create it.
- The Cultural Centre, in pursuit of its purpose and tasks, performs the following functions:
- organizes the activities of amateur art groups, studios, clubs, takes care of their participation in song festivals, local, regional, republican, international events;
- organizes and carries out the support, selection and settlement of programmes of artistic expression;
- organises entertainment, educational and amateur art promotion events;
- organises commemorations of national holidays, memorable dates, calendar holidays;
- initiates and methodically supports the development of cultural processes, in accordance with the provisions of the cultural policy of the municipality of the Prienai district;
- prepares and implements projects of cultural programmes, cooperates with other cultural and educational institutions, municipality's elders and non-governmental organisations;
- creates conditions for the dissemination of ethnic culture, promotes old cultural traditions, and fosters the distinctive character of the region;
- develops and gives meaning to contemporary modern and classical forms of artistic activities;
- creates conditions for the dissemination of professional art;
- implements cultural cooperation projects in Lithuania and abroad;
- carries out an analysis of the activities of the Cultural Centre, forecasts and improves its activities.
- The Cultural Centre may perform other functions established by the laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania.
