The director's debut performance was created at the State Youth Theater based on Shelagho Delaney's play The Taste of Honey (1977). He worked for one year at the National Drama Theater of Kaunas, where he staged the ballads of Anton Chekhov's Ivanova and Saulius Šaltenis Duokiškis (1978). Important works staged in Italy: directed at La Scala in Milan, Teatro Argentina in Rome, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Storchi in Modena. Director in 2012 and 2013. was the artistic director of the Festival of Classical Performances at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. In Russia, Eimuntas Nekrošius created in the Great Theater, the Theater of Nations in Moscow.
