Born on 17 November 1964 in Šiauliai. In 1986 he graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatoire (Irena Vaišytė, head of the course), in 2005 he graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatoire (Jonas Vaitkus, head of the course) with a Master's degree in directing. In 1986-89 and since 2002 he has been a lecturer at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (since 2004 - the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre), since 2009 he has been the Head of the Department of Acting and Directing at the Academy, and a professor (2014).
Co-founder of the Theatre of Odd Fellows (1989) and the theatre laboratory "Open Circle" (2006). He works as an actor, director and composer.
In 2010 he was awarded the Culture and Art Prize of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. In 2016, he received the Knight's Cross of the Order "For Merits to Lithuania".
