Polish theater director. Since 1998, the artistic director of TR Warszawa (former Rozmaitości Theatre), and in the years 2006–2012 also the general director. Lecturer at the Academy of Theater Arts. Stanisław Wyspiański in Krakow.
He studied philosophy at the Jagiellonian University and directing at the State Higher School of Theater in Krakow. During his studies at the PWST, he was an assistant to Krystian Lupa in the production of Hermann Broch's Sleepwalkers at the Stary Theater in Krakow (1995). He gained fame with his first performances based on classical texts, which he boldly reinterpreted: Tropical Madness according to Witkacy (1997), Magnetism of the Heart based on Aleksander Fredro's Maiden Vows (1999), adaptations of great European novels: Doctor Faustus by Thomas Mann (1999), Prince Myshkin according to Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Idiot (2000) He is the author of many adaptations and two plays, Medea Project and Areteia, as well as librettos for Zygmunt Krauze's operas: Iwona, Princess of Burgundy and Trap. He also has several television productions to his credit.
Jarzyna's performances are invited to numerous festivals and guest performances in Europe and around the world. in Avignon, Edinburgh, Moscow, Berlin, Vienna, Stockholm, London, Jerusalem, Toronto, Wellington, Los Angeles and New York.
