Born on 03 03 1953 in Svirkaciiai, Akmenė district.
In 1971 graduated from Viekšniai secondary school. In 1971-1975 he studied Lithuanian Studies at Vilnius University. He worked as a nature conservation instructor, stage worker at the Youth Theatre, and after the Revival of Lithuania he worked in the editorial offices of Lietuvos aidas and Lietuvos ryto. He sang songs with his own lyrics, appeared in television programmes, sang in a rock opera. Many songs have been written with his lyrics. Plays have been staged - "Blinkuva" in 1989, "Pakeleivingi" in 1991 and 1993. His works have been translated into Russian, German, Polish and French.
