In the years 1924–1933 he studied at the music school of J. Zielonczanka-Donichtowa in Sambor (piano and theory of music). In 1938 he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Jan Kazimierz University in Lviv. In the years 1933–1948 he was a conductor of instrumental and choral ensembles. In the years 1951–1954 he studied composition privately with Artur Malawski.From 1948, he constantly collaborated with the Polish Radio Choir and Orchestra in Krakow (currently Polish Radio and TV), as conductor and choir director, and from 1962 also conductor of the orchestra. In the years 1962–1982 he was the director of the Polish Radio and Television Choir in Krakow, with whom he continued to work until 1989. At the same time, in 1970–1971, he led the choir of the State Higher School of Music in Kraków. With the Polish Radio Choir, he has made a number of archival recordings, prepared most oratorios and cantata compositions, performed with the participation of leading Polish symphony orchestras. As the director and conductor of the Polish Radio choir, he took part in the group's performances in East Germany (1951), Switzerland (1967), France (1971), Italy (1972).He received state awards for his artistic activity, e.g. Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1964) and Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1973)
