In 1987 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. 1987–93 researcher at the Lithuanian Theater, Music and Cinema Museum (until 1992, Theater and Music Department of the Lithuanian Art Museum). From 1993, the Lithuanian National Drama Theater (until 1998, the Lithuanian Academic Drama Theatre), 1995–2000, 2007–09, and head of the Literature Department of the Vilnius Small Theater. From 1998 to 2002 and from 2013 he taught at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and from 2012 at the Lithuanian University of Education. Main areas of scientific research: contemporary Lithuanian theater, directing, acting art.
