1960 Born in Vienna, Christoph Cech has a wide range of scope and designs. Author of three operas, masses and various pieces for orchestra, he is known not only as a non-conformist conducting composer, but also as a charismatic big band leader, a sensitive keyboard player for small groups, and sometimes even a drummer.Cech's talent for making music immediately experiential and allowing intensive exposure to improvisation and rhythm led to the successful operation of the Institute for Jazz and Improvisational Music (JIM) at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria. 1999-2015 Cech was the head of this department.Since the beginning of the 80s, Christoph Cech has been the founder, keyboardist, composer and conductor of many ensembles performing international concert activities, in the area of jazz - the Nouvelle Cuisine Bigband and the Christoph Cech Jazz Orchestra under his own leadership, Project CC JOP, and in the area of contemporary music - JANUS Ensemble.Cecho's experience ranges from a wealth of works for small experimental jazz and chamber music ensembles to works for big band, large symphonic concepts and three operas.He is a laureate of many composition competitions:State scholarship of the Republic of Austriain 2016 Art Prize of the Republic of Austriain 2018 The cost of Upper Austrian culture
