Jerome Kern (1885-1945) was an American composer who wrote more than 700 songs, including such classics as 'Ol' Man River', 'The Way You Look Tonight' and 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes'. He also composed scores for Broadway shows, including 'Show Boat', 'Roberta' and 'The Cat and the Fiddle'. Kern is considered one of the greatest songwriters in American history.
