Manuel M. Ponce was a talented musician born in 1882 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas. He showed an exceptional musical talent from a very young age, receiving formal piano lessons at the age of four. After completing his studies in Mexico, he traveled to Italy and Germany for advanced musical training. Ponce became a notable promoter of Mexican popular music, with his famous composition ''Estrellita'' becoming a global sensation. He was posthumously awarded the National Arts and Science Prize in 1948. Today, Ponce is remembered as a pioneering figure in the development of modern Mexican music.
