Oginskis was invited to Rietava.Since 1892 – Kaunas Archcathedral organist and choir director. in 1892 He established private organist courses in Kaunas and for many years led them, trained organists and choir directors. The courses have been completed by well-known musicians Stasys Šimkus, Julius Štarka, Aleksandras Kačanauskas and many other organists and choirmasters.in 1894 deepened his knowledge of music in Germany, at the Regensburg Higher Church School of Music under F. Haberli and other pedagogues. After returning to Kaunas, he not only worked as an organist and choir director of the Kaunas Cathedral, but also as a professor of choir and choir at the Žemaičiai Priests' Seminary.The bishop of Žemaicai, Mečislovas Paliulionis, entrusted him with the reform of church music. J. Naujalis started this work at the priest's seminary, where he practically introduced future priests to Gregorian chant and church polyphonic music. In America, he collected donations for the Society of Lithuanian Artists - he was its treasurer, he visited the Union of Organists.To J. Naujalius, the first Lithuanian musician in 1933. awarded the title of professor. in 1934 elected an honorary member of ALRK Organists' and other musicians' unions.
