Sir Richard Rodney Bennett was an English composer and pianist who is best known for his film scores and jazz compositions. He was born on March 29, 1936 in England. Bennett studied at the Royal Academy of Music and later gained popularity for his compositions for film, including Murder on the Orient Express and Nicholas and Alexandra. He was also an accomplished jazz pianist and collaborated with many well-known jazz musicians throughout his career. Bennett passed away on December 24, 2012.
