Johann Gottlieb Janitsch graduated from the University of Frankfurt an der Oder. He held several positions in the Prussian court, including personal musician to Frederick the Great. After his death, his manuscripts were transferred to the Sing-Akademie in Berlin, which was looted during World War II. There are rumors that some of the manuscripts were found in Ukraine. It is known that he wrote sonatas for harpsichord and organ.
