Polish composer, conductor and pianist, laureate of many international awards. He is considered one of the most famous European and Polish composers of the 20th century. The uniqueness of his work is an original technique of using randomness in music, called limited aleatorics, and a unique system of organizing twelve tones. Liutoslavsky composed 4 symphonies (1947, 1967, 1983, 1992), variations on a theme by N. Paganini (1941), a concerto for orchestra (1954), a concerto for cello (1970), many instrumental works, including opuses for solo instruments, ensemble compositions, concerts and orchestral song cycles. He has also composed music for two motion pictures.
