Darius Milhaud was a French composer and teacher. He was a member of the group of composers known as Les Six, along with Francis Poulenc, Georges Auric, Arthur Honegger, Louis Durey, and Germaine Tailleferre. Milhaud's compositions were influenced by jazz, Brazilian music, and his Jewish heritage. He wrote more than 400 works, including operas, ballets, chamber music, and symphonies.
