Joaquín Rodrigo was a Spanish composer born in Sagunto, Valencia in 1901. He lost most of his sight due to diphtheria at the age of three, leading him to pursue music. His first compositions were produced in 1923, and he began gaining recognition as both a pianist and composer. His Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar and orchestra premiered in 1940, bringing him worldwide fame. Throughout his life, he composed numerous concertos, songs, and choral and instrumental works. He died in 1999, and his daughter created the Victoria and Joaquín Rodrigo Foundation to preserve and disseminate her father's music.
