Polish composer, teacher and conductor. Penderecki is one of the most famous and successful Polish composers in general. This is evidenced by the highest awards of cultural, scientific and political organizations of various countries, of which he has more than 30. The following works made the composer famous the most: "Lament for the victims of Hiroshima", Symphony No. 3, St. Luke's Passion, Polish requiem, "Anaklasis", "Utrenja". Also, Kšyštofs Penderecki has created 4 operas, 8 symphonies, dozens of vocal-instrumental works. A large part of the composer's work consists of works for orchestra, instrumental concerts and chamber music. In addition, K. Pendereckis has created music for a jazz ensemble and a tape recorder.The composer has been awarded the honorary titles of fifteen art and science academies, as well as honorary doctorates and professorships of the world's most famous universities and music schools - Yale, Georgetown, Glasgow, Rochester, Bordeaux, Madrid, Belgrade, Moscow, Poznań, Krakow. Penderecki has won five Grammy Awards (1987, 1998, 2001, 2013, 2017).
