Tunder served as the organist at the Marienkirche in Lubeck from 1641 until he was replaced by Buxtehude in 1668. He is famous for initiating the well-known "Abendmusiken" - unfettered organ concerts - which were held for over two centuries. Breitkopf & Hartel (www.breitkopf.com) has published his pieces for the organ, which include 4 preludes, a partial prelude, a canzona, and 9 Chorale Fantasias. (Credit: Niall Carroll's contribution).
