Emils Dārziņš (1875-1910) was a Latvian composer. He founded the Great Association of Latvian Music and was one of the first representatives of Neo-Classicism and Romanticism in Latvian music. He is known for his pieces such as "Melancholic Waltz" and "Peter and the Bird". Dārziņš was born in Tukums district, Latvia, and lived until his death in Riga where he worked as a music teacher.
