His first teacher was the French pedagogue Jean Rolay, the court musician Juzefs Kozlovskis (1757-1831) taught him the basics of music and how to play the piano, the violin was taught by Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755-1824), Jarnovičius and other famous teachers and musicians. He did not specifically study musical compositions, but created and published his works throughout his life.My uncle Mykolas Kazimieras Oginskis, 1764-1768, had a great influence in choosing his life path.
